Budanovic takes a range of different styles of photographs, one of which is reflections in puddles showing buildings or trees. I was inspired by the way she represents these photos by rotating them 180degrees so the reflection in the puddle looks like it is the right way up giving an illusion that it isn't a reflection but inside the puddle. She also editted the photos to be in a circle form rather than the regular standard rectangular/square form.
This picture by Isidora Budanovic stood out to me as one of her best. This is because of the warm colours of the autumn leaves of oranges, red and yellows showing contrast against the deep blue of the puddle and create an illusion in the puddle as if it is part of the reflection in the puddle almost creating an effect like a painting. She also has her own style, in which she crops the picture as a circle and flips the picture to create an illusion that it's real and to also give a new perspective of the building in the reflection.

These photos are from a series of photos taken by an anonymous photographer/s who focus on reflections in water, this links clearly to my theme of reflection. There is a variation of reflections, from reflections of buildings to reflections of nature.
This selection of photos inspire my theme of reflection as i particularly like the reflection of the tree branches in puddles and the brighter colours of the garage with graffiti and orange bricks in the reflection the the puddle with a little concrete island in the middle. I picked out this picture as one of my favourites that represent my theme reflection as it shows an urban style with lots of colour going on. I also like the reflection in the large puddle of the building as the reflection shows depth and adds an art like effect. The puddle its self has an island of concrete and cardboard which separates part of the garage door, showing a different perspective and creating a different effect.

1. Filling the frame - moving closer to fill the frame with one focus.
Photos that fill the frame are stronger than those that are shot from mid or long distance because you get full focus on a specific scene/object you have chosen and by getting closer then you can see details that you wouldn't usually be able to see from a far. It can also give the photo a surreal or abstract look on things. Another thing is that you can control what part of the object you take the photo of as you can show something in your own original way by showing it up close at different angles or showing detail that changes the focus.

2. Framing the subject - A technique used to draw attention to the subject using natural or man-made objects within the photo itself. This technique can give the photo context, a sense of layers and depth, it will lead the eye to your main focal point, and will definetly intrigue its viewers. When using Framing of the subject you can choose whether you want the frame to be in focus to help add context or blurr the frame to give the focus more depth and a sense of mood to the shot.
3. Vantage point - a position from which you can view something. It allows you to approach a subject from many different angles and many different views to manipulate your main focus and can create a sense of surrealism to the shot.
4. Depth of field - The amount that's in focus in between the nearest and farthest objects in a scene that appear acceptably sharp in an image.
5.Rule of thirds - The rule of thirds is applied by aligning a subject with the guide lines and their intersection points, placing the horizon on the top or bottom line, or allowing linear features in the image to flow from section to section.
Photoshoot 1- Glasgow
The objective of this photoshoot was to capture reflections in puddles. The main focus was of buildings however i managed to capture a lot of nature and other various street scenes whilst I experimented, which I will aim to use in future photoshoots.

This photo from photoshoot one was one of my most successful shots due to clear connection to my theme and ideas, compared to my other photos within the shoot, this photo has a clear, in focussed reflection and has an interesting, unique outcome. It shows the reflection of the autumn trees outside from a puddle within a building, showing the contrast from the daylight outside and the dark inside also creating an abstract effect on the photo.

After my experimentation with reflection photography I found a solid idea and style that I was going to work in, I decided to drop my original idea of urban reflections in puddles and decided to take reflections of nature in deeper water, for example lakes, ponds and rivers, to get a clearer image.
photoshoot 2- Rotherham, Yorkshire
The objective of this photoshoot was to take pictures of reflections in deep water e.g. rivers/lakes to get a clearer image of my subject. I aimed to get reflections of the nature around the river to give more detail in the reflection for a better final outcome.
Photoshoot 3- Dorking
I took my fourth photoshoot in a park in dorking where there was a large lake. I tool reflections of the tree branches along side the bank. Due to the weather being rather windy the water was moving, therefore the reflections weren't very clear, however they gave my reflections a quivering effect making the picture more interesting, making the picture look like a piece of art.
Photoshoot 4-Richmond
For my third photoshoot I went to richmond park to take reflections in the lake, I also took shot some pictures of reflection in puddles as it has rained the day before. The reflections I captured were of nature and because it was a clear, sunny day with no wind, the reflection came out clear. I also took some pictures by the river bank in richmond and captured some more man made features e.g. the bridge, because it was a reflection on the river the strong currents gave the reflection a more blurry effect which I thought made it look more interesting as it looks like the reflection is more disorientated however still gives a good reflection.
Best photograph
I chose this photograph as my favourite as it shows a clear reflection, fitting with my theme. The red/brown colour of the bank adds character to the picture and really captures the eye, as there is a blend of red, brown and green as the sunlight hits it. The quality of the picture was also my best as the picture was well lit, and I managed to get a still and very clear picture of the reflection in the water, which looked life like, creating a new perspective.
